The Hall

Okay, let’s be honest. The hall is a narrow little walkway that really doesn’t deserve its own personal update post. But for me, walking up and down it every day, the few mini updates that happened make a world of difference. And I have the photos to prove it – obviously. ๐Ÿ˜‰

We started with this:

It’s a 2-year-old photo, but you get the idea. Really nothing changed until fairly recently, when we finally got rid of the dreaded boob light, moved the hampers into the hall for easy access, added a rug, and a garage sale find table.

The result:

Does it make your heart sing? Probably not, but it makes mine perform an entire Broadway musical. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Pay no attention to the fact that I haven’t updated my photo gallery in 2 years. These frames are a pain in the hiney to open and close.ย #thatsmyexcuseandimstickingwithit

If you are in the market for hampers, or giant covered bins… I highly recommend these. I found them half off at World Market a while back, and they are fabulous. They hold way more than you’d think, while still looking lovely. Since we don’t have any convenient place to hide the laundry, the whole lovely hamper thing is a definite bonus. haha

The runner was a clearance steal at Urban Outfitters, and I kind of love it. One of these days I will remember to buy the sticky rug tape to keep it flat. Until then, I’ll continue adjusting it several thousand times a day. Ha! ๐Ÿ˜›

And that’s it for the hall. Every now and then we talk about replacing the wooden bannisters with wrought iron ones, but I don’t see that actually happening any time soon. Have any of you tried to DIY that? It seems like it might be more hassle than it’s worth, but I do love the look of it.

    1. Hahaha That is exactly what happened to me a few years ago. I heard that style of light called a boob light and now I cannot get it out of my mind. You’re welcome. ๐Ÿ˜›

  1. Your home is so beautiful! My husband and I recently moved into our first home (March) and the long empty hallway leading back to the bedroom is still one area I haven’t touched, for whatever reason – it intimidates me! I love your rug though, and love what you’ve done with the gallery wall!

    1. Congratulations on your first home! How exciting! I get intimidated by eclectic gallery walls, which is why I ended up with a ready-made one from Bed Bath &Beyond. Haha But the frames and drug definitely make it look a little more “done,” I think, so maybe try something like that! And send me a pic! Haha
